Our laboratory uses zebrafish
as a model system to elucidate the molecular
pathways relevant to Presenilin
(PS) biology and their implication in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's
disease and other CNS disorders. Our goals are to understand the molecular
mechanism of the PS-dependent intramembrane cleavage of transmembrane
proteins, to key regulators
controlling post-proteolysis gene expression, and to establish a zebrafish model for CNS disorders.
